BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the third time this season, junior Allie Carroll of the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Carroll anchored a back line that posted its eighth shutout of the season in the OVC championship-clinching win at Eastern Illinois Sunday. Carroll helped limit a Panther offense that averaged 9.7 total shots and 3.4 shots on goal per game to just seven and one, respectively. Carroll also scored the game's lone goal from a set piece in the 13th minute to give UTM the win and the regular-season title.
In total, the Skyhawks won nine weekly OVC accolades this season, tying for the program record with the 2021 team, which also won an OVC regular-season championship. Along with Carroll's three defensive honors, Nasti Tanninen was named Defensive Player of the Week, Millie Perry earned an Offensive accolade, and Mac Titus was named goalkeeper of the Week four times.
The top-seeded Skyhawks will sit out the opening round and quarterfinals of the 2026 OVC Women's Soccer Championship and will return to action Thursday, Nov. 12 against either the No. 4 seed Lindenwood, the No. 5 seed SIUE or the No. 8 seed Morehead State at 3 p.m.
Thursday's semifinals and Sunday's final will all take place at Skyhawk Soccer Field in Martin and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
