- The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team (10-8, 6-3 OVC) won its third consecutive game last Tuesday when it topped Southeast Missouri, 67-56, on the road. The Skyhawks got off to a slow start in the game, going just 1-for-9 from the floor in the opening quarter. However, a 9-for-12 clip at the free throw line helped leave them down by only one, 13-12, at the end of the first. The second quarter belonged to UT Martin, as it outscored SEMO, 21-7, in the frame, while in the third, SEMO returned the favor by beginning the quarter on an 11-2 run and outscoring UT Martin, 21-10, trailing by just two, 43-41, at the end of the third. The Skyhawks pushed their lead out to as much as nine in the fourth quarter, but the Redhawks would not go away and trailed by only three, 59-56, with 2:11 left to play. However, from that point on UT Martin closed out the game on an 8-0 run to secure the 11-point victory.
- Kenley McCarn currently leads the Skyhawks with 16.8 points per game, while Zy Thompson and Sidni Middleton follow at 11.2 and 9.6, respectively. On the boards, Thompson leads UT Martin with 6.1 rebounds per game, while Brittani Wells leads in assists and steals at 4.1 and 2.2.
