WACO, Texas – Three days ahead of its season opener, the University of Tennessee at Martin is once again ranked 10th in the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association coaches poll.
Today's set of rankings are the second of the 2025-26 season and also marks the 44th straight appearance in the NCEA rankings for the Skyhawks, whose current top-10 streak began on March 7, 2023.
The defending Eastern College Athletic Conference champion UT Martin squad starts its season this weekend in Brookings, SD, taking on league rivals South Dakota State (Friday, Oct. 3) and Minnesota-Crookston (Saturday, Oct. 4). The Skyhawks are 21-3-7 all-time against the Jackrabbits and 10-0 all-time against the Golden Eagles. This marks the fifth trip to Brookings for UT Martin since October 2022 and second consecutive year that the Skyhawks have opened their season in Brookings, splitting a pair of decisions (8-7 loss to No. 10 Fresno State, 15-5 triumph over South Dakota State) last fall.
Overall, five spots changed today from the first NCEA coaches poll, which was released on Sept. 16. Georgia retained its spot at No. 1 while No. 2 South Carolina, No. 3 SMU, No. 4 Auburn and No. 5 Texas A&M rounded out the top-five. Oklahoma State was slotted sixth and followed by No. 7 TCU, No. 8 Baylor, No. 9 Fresno State and No. 10 UT Martin.
