Skyhawks Battle To Scoreless Draw At Southern Illinois

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team kept a clean sheet for the second consecutive match Sunday when it fought Southern Illinois to a 0-0 tie Sunday at Saluki Stadium in Carbondale.
Mac Titus shutout the competition for the second consecutive match in goal and ended the night with seven saves, marking her fourth shutout of the season. Titus and the UT Martin defense kept an offense off the board that entered the night averaging two-plus goals per match for the second time in as many outings.
Allie Buchmann and Alexandra Weihs each had two shots in the match, while Peyton Cook and Unni Wolf had one. In all, SIU had 19 total shots and 22 set pieces in the match, none of which they were able to convert into a goal thanks to the stellar Skyhawk defense.
With non-conference play behind them, the Skyhawks now turn their attention to Ohio Valley Conference action. UT Martin opens its OVC slate Saturday at Skyhawk Soccer Field at 7 p.m. against Southern Indiana.
