MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Martin soccer team will play its final match of a three-match homestand Sunday when it welcomes Austin Peay to Skyhawk Soccer Field at 7 p.m.
While both teams had plenty of opportunities, Thursday's match between the Skyhawks and North Alabama ended in a scoreless tie, marking the second consecutive draw to start the season for UT Martin.
Both teams ended the night with 12 total shots, with six going on target for North Alabama and four finding the mark for UT Martin. Alexandra Weihs and Kylee Thompson each had three shots in the game, including two on goal for Weihs and one for Thompson. Mac Titus played the full 90 minutes in goal for UT Martin and made six saves for her first clean sheet of the season.
Austin Peay enters Sunday in search of its first win of the season, as it has lost three straight to start the year. On Thursday, the Govs dropped a 4-0 road decision to Northern Kentucky and are still looking for their first goal of the season.
Taylor Grover leads Austin Peay with four shots on the season, while Ellie Dreas and Grover each have two shots on goal. In goal, Lauryn Berry is 0-3 and is allowing 3.64 goals with 4.0 saves per game.
Sunday will be the 25th all-time meeting between the two former conference rivals, with the Skyhawks leading the series 15-6-3. The two teams met last season in Clarksville where the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Following Sunday, the Skyhawks will travel to Ole Miss Thursday to take on the Rebels at 6 p.m.
