
UT Martin Racks Up Podium Finishes And School Records At OVC Outdoor Championship

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.- The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field team collected multiple podium finishes and school records in the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championship at the Abe Stuber Track Complex.

The Skyhawks finished in sixth in the men's standings with 52 points and ninth in the women's standings with 38 points.

- Danielle Mudd earned the first points of the competition for UT Martin with a seventh-place finish in the 10K (38:31.05, PR).
- Meg Wiginton finished in sixth-place in the heptathlon with a new school record of 4,191 points (PR).
- Brady Millikin secured the Skyhawks' first podium finish of the day when he captured first-place in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 9:24.01.
- The men's 4x100m team of Chadwick Stewart, Samir Smith, Braxton Sharp and Khalid White landed on the podium with a third-place finish of 40.92.
- The women's 4x100m team of Alaina Gordon, Eliana Oquendo, Kayla Jackson and JayleAna Wyatt collected more points for UT Martin with a seventh-place finish (47.12).
- Angus Monro raced his way to five points after a time of 3:51.28 in the 1500m (fourth-place).
- David Stukey (fifth-place) finished right behind his teammate Monro in the 1500m when he crossed the finish line at 3:51.39.
- Millikin made it three more points for the Skyhawks when he finished in sixth-place in the 1500m (3:51.67).
- Senior Rita Eimer earned a third-place finish in the 1500m from a time of 4:33.70.
- Maggie Roy crossed the finish line at 4:34.61 in the 1500m for five points and fourth-place.
- In the javelin throw, Andy Westbrooks established a new PR on a launch of 49.09m that added three points for UT Martin.
- Ja'Kobe Ward finished in fifth in the 110m hurdles (14.73) for four points.
- White's fourth-place finish during the 400m (47.57) was good enough for five points.
- Stewart set the school record in the 100m for the second time on the week when he ran a time of 10.53 that gave him fifth-place.
- With a seventh-place finish, Tristen Bough (1:56.44) took home two points for the Skyhawks.
- Roy found her way to the top spot on the podium in the 800m with a time of 2:12.36.
- Anaya Brown finished in sixth-place in the 400m hurdles (1:06.24) for three points.
- Wiginton added on to her big day with a podium finish (third-place) in the 400m hurdles (1:02.57).
- Another school record fell when White ran a time of 21.56 in the 200m which was also a PR.
- In the 4x400m, Elisha Lane, Smith, Stewart and White got the final points of the day for the men's team with a sixth-place finish (3:21.92).
- Morgan Mitchell, Oquendo, Roy and Brown finished in eighth-place (3:57.38) in the 4x400m to add on to the point total for the women's team.
