
UT Martin Puts A Bow On Nonconference Play Tomorrow Against Champion Christian

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball team completes its nonconference slate tomorrow when it hosts Champion Christian for the fourth straight season at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center. The game is the backend of a doubleheader with the women's squad and will tip off at 4:30 p.m.
The Skyhawks (7-3) will look to extend their home winning streak to five games as UT Martin has won by an average of 26.8 points per outing in front of the Elam Center crowd so far this season.
The Skyhawks are a perfect 4-0 all-time against the Tigers, a National Christian College Athletic Association institution out of Hot Springs, Ark. Last season, UT Martin received double-doubles out of Filip Radaković (13 points, career-best 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals) and Lamine Niang (career-high 14 points, 12 rebounds) while Afan Trnka dished out eight assists in just 19 minutes in a 123-56 Skyhawk victory.
UT Martin is coming off an 83-54 setback at Southern Illinois on Wednesday. Andrija Bukumirović (nine points, game-high seven rebounds) and Matas Deniusas (nine points, team-best three assists) led the Skyhawks in scoring while Damien King (eight points), Radaković (seven points) and Trnka (seven points) each followed closely behind.
Champion Christian is off to an impressive 5-2 start this season, including an 86-76 home win over Spurgeon on Tuesday. Adrian Brown - who scored 11 points against UT Martin last season - pumped in 21 points in 20 minutes off the bench to pace five Tigers in double-digit scoring.
This marks the fifth of six exhibitions against NCAA Division I programs for Champion Christian this season. Cam Parker (12.5 points per contest) and Fred'Travious Benjamin (11.8 points per game) have been the Tigers' top performers in such matchups.
