DANBURY, Conn. – For the second straight day, the University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian program was recognized with three Eastern College Athletic Conference honors. Averey Pritchard was named Fences Rider of the Month, Brianna Marks earned Standout Student-Athlete of the Month accolades and Winnie B garnered Horse of the Month status.
Pritchard is the first Skyhawk to win ECAC Fences Rider of the Month honors since her teammate Kate Mills won the award in February. Marks is the fourth UT Martin representative to be named ECAC Standout Student-Athlete of the Month in the last two years and first since Logan Putvinski in February. Winnie B is the first Skyhawk to win any kind of Horse of the Month award since Frappe claimed NCEA accolades in March 2024.
A junior from Collingwood, Ontario, Canada, Pritchard began her UT Martin career with three consecutive victories. The Fresno State transfer secured scores of 84 points against Minnesota-Crookston (Oct. 4) to go along with 78 point-efforts in back-to-back meets against South Dakota State (away on Oct. 4, home on Oct. 31). She won by an average of nine points per meet, including an 18-point triumph in the aforementioned home matchup against the Jackrabbits. On the season, she leads the Skyhawks in scoring average (80.5) and is tied with Mills for the most head-to-head wins (three) in fences.
Marks has exemplified the UT Martin spirit through her leadership and community involvement. The sophomore veterinary science and technology major out of Thousand Oaks, Calif. is Chair of the Skyhawk Game Day Relations Committee, helping organize two major events this fall in the UT Martin Athletics SkyhawkPalooza and the equestrian program's Fourth Annual Trick-or-Trot event. From pony rides and photo opportunities to creative activities for kids, her dedication has brought joy to UT Martin students, families and community members while showcasing the heart of the Skyhawk program.
Graciously donated to UT Martin by Masterson Farms, Winnie B by RL Best of Sudden and out of Winnie Three Bars. On Oct. 31 against South Dakota State, he produced horsemanship MOP honors with Skyhawk rider Kailyn Veale then spent the afternoon dressed as a ghost for UT Martin's Fourth Annual Trick-or-Trot community event. He greeted over 75 children with patience and charm, happily accepting pets and carrots. His kind spirit, steady temperament and willingness to give his all embody what it means to be a true Skyhawk, in and out of the arena.
UT Martin concludes the fall campaign this weekend, heading to Felton, Del. for ECAC outings against No. 10 UC Davis on Friday, Nov. 7 and Delaware State on Saturday, Nov. 8.
