UT Martin Remains 10th In Second Edition Of National Collegiate Equestrian Association Poll

WACO, Texas – For the second consecutive week, the University of Tennessee at Martin appeared in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association coaches poll as the Skyhawks are ranked 10th.
There was only one change from last week's first edition of the rankings as the top-eight spots remain the same. South Carolina retained its No. 1 position and is followed by No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 3 Auburn, No. 4 Georgia, No. 5 SMU, No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 7 TCU and No. 8 Fresno State. South Dakota State makes its 2026-27 debut in the rankings at No. 9 and is followed by UT Martin at No. 10.
Today's rankings marks the 46th time that the Skyhawks have been recognized in the NCEA national top-10 poll since March 7, 2023.
UT Martin is coming off a successful weekend that included its inaugural Blue and Orange Scrimmage at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex. Jumping Seat MOP's included the senior duo of Lydia Jordan (flat) and Audrey Morris (fences) while the Western discipline produced MOP's of junior Annie Batsche (horsemanship) and senior Claire Carpenter (reining).
A total of 29 student-athletes are set to return for Skyhawk head coach Kim Leiter-Janes, a list that includes 16 Western riders and 13 Jumping Seat representatives. On the flipside, a dozen newcomers (seven Western, five Jumping Seat) are set to make their UT Martin debuts in 2026-27.
The Skyhawks begin the 2026-27 season next week in Dover, Del., traveling to Eastern College Athletic Conference rival Delaware State on Friday, Oct. 2 before a neutral-site matchup against Baylor on Saturday, Oct. 3.
