Pat Head Summitt
Summitt was a trailblazing figure in women's basketball, both as a player and coach. She played for UT Martin and became an All-American before transitioning into a legendary coaching career at Tennessee. As head coach of the Lady Vols, she became the winningest coach in NCAA Division I basketball history at the time, amassing over 1,000 wins and leading her team to eight Southeastern Conference titles and two national championships. Summitt also represented the United States in the Olympics, winning a silver medal as a player at the 1976 Montreal Games before earning a gold finish as a coach at the 1984 Los Angeles Games, cementing her legacy as one of the sport's greatest figures.
Series History
The game will mark the Lady Vols' fourth trip to Martin and first since 1997.
