
Skyhawks Make The Trek To Music City For Rare Tuesday OVC Contest Against Tennessee State

MARTIN, Tenn. – Aiming for its third straight victory is the University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball team as the Skyhawks clash against Tennessee State in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup tomorrow. Tipoff from the Gentry Center in Nashville is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
UT Martin (9-10, 5-3 OVC) has won four of its last five games with its lone setback in that span coming via a one-point overtime road loss. That stretch includes a sweep of Eastern Illinois (68-63) and SIUE (85-82) last week where the Skyhawks forced 33 combined turnovers to move into a tie for third place in the conference standings.
Vladimer Salaridze registered a team-best 19.5 points per game last week, leading UT Martin in scoring in both contests. Tarence Guinyard (14.5 points, team-high 6.5 rebounds per outing) and Josué Grullon (10.5 points per contest) also averaged double figures in the scoring column for the Skyhawks last week while Afan Trnka dished out a team-best 5.0 assists in the two home matchups.
Against conference opponents, UT Martin leads the OVC in three-point field goals made (10.5 per game), scoring margin (+5.1), offensive rebounding (12.8 per outing), turnover margin (+2.63) and steals (8.75 per contest).
