
UT Martin Women’s Hoops Opens Preseason With First Practice

MARTIN, Tenn. – Fresh off an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team hit the hardwood of Pat Summitt Court for its first official practice of the preseason slate.
The Skyhawks return 79 percent of their offensive production from a squad which won 16 games and ultimately earned the Ohio Valley Conference's automatic berth to the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
UT Martin features a pair of All-OVC first team representatives in sophomore Kenley McCarn (16.5 ppg) and junior Anaya Brown (15.1 ppg). The tandem highlights a list of eight returners including Norah Clark (10.0 ppg) and Lexi Rubel (8.6 ppg) who started for the majority of the season while Morgan Borgstadt and Shae Littleford missed significant time with injuries.

The squad is anticipating the debut of graduate guard Ally Collett who missed last season with an injury while Sophie Singleton also saw action in 2023-24 as a freshman. Newcomers Kayana Armbrister, Aaliyah Converse, Tia Hymon, Mauryah Jones, Mikayla Lambert, Kaitlyn McCarn, Daejah Richmond, Taylor Scohy, Abbigail Stephens and Yar Tong join the fold leading into the 2024-25 campaign.
