Tipoff from the Ford Center is slated for 3 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
The Skyhawks (15-15) advanced to the tournament semifinals after knocking off No. 6 seed Tennessee Tech in Thursday afternoon's quarterfinal by a final score of 79-71. UT Martin led by as much as 20 points in the contest and knocked down 14 three-pointers to survive and advance in the eight-team tournament field.
All-OVC guard Kenley McCarn paced the Skyhawks with 31 points in her first taste of postseason basketball at the collegiate level. McCarn started the game by going 6-for-6 from the field and finished the afternoon at 12-for-17 on the day while knocking down 4-of-6 three-point attempts. Friday's game marks the 12th semifinal appearance for the Skyhawks under the direction of head coach Kevin McMillan since taking over prior to the 2009-10 season. During that span, the Skyhawks have advanced to the championship game nine times while ultimately winning the tournament crown in four consecutive years from 2010-14.
Both UT Martin and Little Rock finished tied for second in the final league standings after going 11-7 during OVC play. The two programs split their season series as both teams picked up road wins while the Trojans secured the higher seed in the tournament field due to tie-breaker procedures.
Little Rock enters the tournament field with a 12-17 record after securing the double-bye. The Trojans closed out the regular season by winning three of their final four games – including an overtime victory against Tennessee Tech (72-69) in the season finale. The squad is led by Faith Lee with 14.8 points per game while All-OVC first teamer Jayla Brooke averages 9.7 points per game.
The game will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+ while local listeners can tune into the Skyhawk Sports Network to hear Chris Brinkley (play-by-play) and Davis Gregory (analyst) call the action live from courtside.
