Last week, the Skyhawks wrapped up play in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu, Hawai'i. While in the Aloha State, UT Martin faced stiff competition falling No. 1 UCLA, 97-37 to open the tournament. The Skyhawks then fell to host Hawai'i, 47-39, before closing out play in the showdown with an overtime loss to Fresno State, 75-66.
Anaya Brown led the Skyhawks while In Hawai'i with 10.0 point and 4.3 rebounds per game. Shae Littleford was next in line for UT Martin with 7.7 points per game, while Kenley McCarn and Daejah RIchmond averaged 7.3 points each.
Butler enters Tuesday's contest at at 7-2 overall after going 2-1 in last week's Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida. The only loss for the Bulldogs in the Sunshine State was to No. 5 Texas, while picking up wins over Santa Clara and Boise State.
Caroline Strande currently leads Butler in scoring at 1.3 points per game, while Kilyn McGuff follows at 10.2. On the boards, McGuff leads the way at 6.9 rebounds per game with Cristen Carter falling at 5.4 per game.
With at least one made 3-pointer in all three games in Hawai'i, the Skyhawks have now made at least one 3-point field goal in 489 consecutive games, a streak which dates back to Feb. 3, 2009, against Austin Peay and currently, ranks 8th nationally.
At 13-for-13, Kenley McCarn is currently perfect at the free throw line this season. She is currently on a streak of 17 consecutive made free throws, dating back to when she made her last four free throw attempts in last season's OVC semifinal against Little Rock.
