
Skyhawks Fall To No. 1 UCLA in Hawai’i

HONOLULU, Hawai'i - The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team came up short in the opening game of the 2024 American Savings Bank Rainbow Wahine Showdown Friday, falling to top-ranked UCLA, 97-37, at the SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
The Skyhawks took an early 10-9 lead in the first quarter on a jumper by Kenley McCarn. However, the Bruins proved why they are the No. 1 team in the land and retook the lead moments later and never relinquished it.
Anaya Brown led the Skyhawks in the game with seven points, while Shae Littleford and Kenley McCarn followed with six and five, respectively. Brown and Daejah Richmond led UT Martin on the boards with three each, while Richmond also had team-highs of two steals and two assists.
The Skyhawks return to action in Honolulu Saturday when they take on host Hawai'i at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
