MARTIN, Tenn. – The longest home stretch of the 2024 University of Tennessee at Martin volleyball season wraps up tomorrow as the Skyhawks play host to Ohio Valley Conference foe Southern Indiana at 6 p.m. in a "Pink Out" match.
UT Martin will go for the season sweep of the Screaming Eagles as the Skyhawks defeated Southern Indiana on the road in five sets (25-15, 21-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13) back on Oct. 1. In that match, redshirt freshman Dylan Sulcer became only the seventh player in UT Martin's NCAA Division I history to accumulate a triple-double (career-highs of 11 kills, 13 assists and 14 digs). The Skyhawk trio of Kayla Bryant (team-high 15 kills, 12 digs), Katie Cruise (24 assists, 15 digs) and Dylan Mott (32 digs, career-high 13 assists) each had double-doubles while Kylie Surratt equaled a team-high with 15 kills.
UT Martin (3-13, 1-6 OVC) leads the all-time series by a 5-2 margin, including a 3-0 record inside Skyhawk Fieldhouse. The outside hitter from Maryland Heights, Mo. became the first Skyhawk freshman to achieve 20 kills in a match since Emily Keaton in 2011 while Mott's 40 digs (5.71 per set) carried UT Martin defensively.
Southern Indiana (8-13, 3-6 OVC) has lost four straight, including a pair of home sweeps at the hands of Western Illinois over the weekend.
