The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team hits the road to start a key four-game road swing with a matchup against Ohio Valley Conference rival Eastern Illinois on Thursday, Feb. 1. Tipoff from newly renamed Groniger Arena is slated for 5 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Skyhawks and Panthers meet for the second time this season after squaring off back in early January in a nail-biting 72-70 showdown in the Elam Center. EIU came out on top in the contest after five-time OVC Player of the Week Macy McGlone scored a putback layup in the final seconds to wrap up the road victory.
UT Martin (7-12, 4-4 OVC) dropped another heartbreaker in its most recent outing after leading for much of the contest against Lindenwood. Despite leading by double-digits in the second half, the Lions rattled off an 11-0 run in the final minutes – including a go-ahead three-pointer with eight seconds to play which proved to be the eventual game-winner in a 73-68 contest.
