
UT MARTIN STAYS AT NO. 10 IN FINAL NATIONAL COLLEGIATE EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION POLL OF 2022-23 REGULAR SEASON

WACO, Texas – All 10 schools remained in the same slots as the previous week in the today's edition of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association rankings, which includes the University of Tennessee at Martin at No. 10.
The Skyhawks held their final two home meets of the season last weekend, falling 6-4 in a Jumping Seat-only scrimmage against Bridgewater before posting a 17-4 exhibition win over Miami (Ohio).
UT Martin gathered five of the six possible MOP's as Julia Gilman secured top honors in fences against Bridgewater while Abi Myers (fences), Ava Laplante (flat), Kailyn Veale (horsemanship) and Abi Clark (reining) brought home medals against Miami (Ohio).
The Skyhawks especially excelled in fences (8-2 won-loss record) and reining (5-0-1) over the weekend. UT Martin also tacked on five victories in flat and three head-to-head triumphs in horsemanship.
Overall, the Skyhawk depth was evident over the course of the two meets as a total of 19 student-athletes earned victories in the last two home meets of the 2022-23 campaign. That list includes Emmy Reed and Bridget Vieau, who each came away with two wins (fences and flat) against Miami (Ohio) on Saturday.
Today's NCEA rankings included SMU at No. 1, followed by No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 TCU, No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 6 Georgia, No. 7 South Carolina, No. 8 Fresno State, No. 9 Baylor and No. 10 UT Martin. It marked the 14th time out of a possible 17 polls that the Skyhawks made an appearance in the national top-10 during the 2022-23 season.
UT Martin will make its second trip to Brookings, SD in the last month when the Skyhawks compete for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship, held on March 23-25.
