UT MARTIN EQUESTRIAN CLAIMS TWO MORE EASTERN COLLEGE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE RIDER OF THE WEEK AWARDS

DANBURY, Conn. – Elizabeth Becker and Lexi Bailey, junior stars on the University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team, were recognized as Eastern College Athletic Conference Rider of the Week honorees.
The Skyhawks have now accounted for 14 ECAC Riders of the Week during the fall semester as Becker won in fences and Bailey earned the nod in reining. This marks the third weekly accolade in 2023-24 for Bailey (although her first two came in horsemanship) and first for Becker.
These two UT Martin riders helped the squad defeat No. 8 Baylor via a raw points tiebreaker in a neutral-site matchup before narrowly falling at Delaware State over the weekend.
Hailing from Grosse Point, Mich., Becker was a perfect 2-0 in fences thanks to an 80.5 scoring average over the weekend. Her 82-point effort aboard Red against Baylor resulted in her first career MOP with an eight-point margin of victory while she followed that with 79 points on Domino at Delaware State, garnering her third win of the 2023-24 campaign.
Bailey added the third and fourth career reining MOP medals to her collection with a clean sweep over the weekend competition. Her 72.8 scoring average included a 71 on Luna against Baylor before unreeling a career-best 74.5 points aboard Wally against her Delaware State counterpart. The Union Mills, Ind. native now has four wins and a pair of MOP's in reining this season.
The two meets last weekend were the final two dates on the Skyhawks' fall schedule. UT Martin will officially begin the spring season with a pair of home meets against Delaware State and UC Davis on Feb. 9-10.
