
UT MARTIN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO CENTRAL ARKANSAS FOR MID-WEEK MATCHUP

The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team hits the road on Tuesday night for a non-conference matchup at ASUN foe Central Arkansas. Tipoff from the Farris Center is slated for 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Skyhawks (0-2) are coming off a tough loss to Vanderbilt by a margin of 70-68 after leading for over 32 minutes at home. UT Martin shot 48.3 percent from the field and led by as much as 12 points midway through the third quarter but could not overcome a Vandy comeback attempt in the final minutes.
Freshman Love Mays paced the Skyhawks with 15 points against Vanderbilt while adding four rebounds and four assists in her second collegiate game. All-OVC guard Shae Littleford chipped in 14 points and seven assists in the contest while the team was rounded out in double figures by sophomore forward Anaya Brown who tallied 14 points and six rebounds.
UT Martin is looking for its 700th school victory since the program debuted in the 1969-70 campaign. While the Skyhawks have accumulated 699 all-time victories, the squad has accumulated 265 of those wins during the 15th tenure of head coach Kevin McMillan.
Central Arkansas (1-1) split its contests last week after blasting Hendrix in an 85-25 victory before falling on the road to Samford by a narrow margin of 65-62. The Sugar Bears feature three players averaging double digits with Jade Upshaw and Randrea Wright pacing the team with 12.0 points per game. Leah Mafua is close behind the tandem, averaging 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Tuesday's contest marks the fifth meeting between the two programs with UT Martin holding a 3-1 lead in the all-time series. The two squads last met in 2012 with the Skyhawks picking up a 72-48 victory.
