WACO, Texas – A total of 16 University of Tennessee at Martin representatives found themselves on the APHA National Collegiate Equestrian Association All-Academic lists, the organization announced today.
Five Skyhawks were selected to the APHA NCEA All-Academic first team, which requires recipients to compete in a minimum of 70 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and earned a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively. Winning that award from UT Martin was Tyler Anderson, Haley Kane, Kelby Kane, Katelyn Schultz and Keely Seiter.
Mahalia Alascio and Julia Gilman both made an appearance on the APHA NCEA Academic honorable mention team, which recognizes those who competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.
A total of nine Skyhawks landed on the NCEA Academic Honor Roll squad, which goes to top academic student-athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively. UT Martin's Natalie Armstrong, Abi Clark, Sydney Hott, Shelby Jackson, Kyra Petty, Emmy Reed, Casey Ruggiero, Emma Schaefer and Bridget Vieau all qualified for that impressive accolade.
