UT MARTIN EQUESTRIAN RANKED 10TH IN THIS WEEK’S NCEA TOP-10 POLL

WACO, Texas – The University of Tennessee at Martin received its eighth national ranking of the 2021-22 campaign as the National Collegiate Equestrian Association tabbed the Skyhawks at No. 10 in its poll released this afternoon.
Following a three-week absence from official competition, UT Martin was back in action over the weekend as it fell 17-2 at current No. 5 Georgia. Julia Gilman (fences) and Kate Davis (horsemanship) each scored victories as the 10 Skyhawk representatives in the Western discipline kept things close – finishing only five total points shy of the Bulldogs in raw score.
On the season, UT Martin has combined for 84 individual wins and 20 MOP's. The Skyhawks have done their most damage in fences, racking up 28 victories and six MOP's. That is followed by 25 wins and six MOP's out of UT Martin's flat lineup. In the Western discipline, the Skyhawks have earned 16 victories (and four MOP's) in reining to go along with 15 wins (plus four MOP's) in horsemanship.
Texas A&M overtook the No. 1 spot in today's poll and was followed by No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 3 Auburn, No. 4 TCU, No. 5 Georgia, No. 6 Baylor, No. 7 SMU, No. 8 Fresno State, No. 9 South Carolina and No. 10 UT Martin.
The Skyhawks conclude the 2021-22 campaign with two home matchups this weekend, hosting South Dakota State on Friday, March 11 and Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday, March 12. UT Martin will celebrate Senior Day following Saturday's meet as Natalie Armstrong, Brooke Bradley, Shelby Jackson, Kelby Kane, Kyra Petty and Katelyn Schultz will make their final career appearances at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion.
