
UT MARTIN GOLF COMPLETES PARTICIPATION IN GULF COAST COLLEGIATE

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. – The University of Tennessee at Martin duo of Jacob Uehlein and Garrett Chumley each came away with top-20 finishes as the Skyhawks wrapped up the final day of the Gulf Coast Collegiate at Diamondhead Country Club.
Uehlein was responsible for his best score of the three-day tournament today, carding a 73 that included one birdie and 16 pars. Meanwhile, Garrett Chumley managed 15 pars on the day to finish with a 75. Those performances brought their event tally to 225 (+9) – which ranked 19th on the final 75-man leaderboard.
Bryson Morrell and Cayden Chambers each shot a 77 with a pair of birdies today to complete UT Martin's team score of 302 (+14). The Skyhawks placed sixth in the 13-team field with an overall tally of 904 (+40), which included the second-most pars (161) in the tournament.
Overall, Morrell shot a 231 (+15) while Tate Chumley collected a 232 (+16) following an 82 in Round 3. Chambers finished with a 236 (+20) for the tournament. Uehlein ranked in the top-four in the event in par-3 scoring (3.08, +1, third) and pars (35, fourth) while also topping UT Martin with a 4.17 (+5) par-4 scoring average. Morrell ranked first on the squad in par-5 scoring, navigating those holes at a 4.83 average (-2).
Competing individually, Jonathan Xoinis equaled his best score in the tournament with a 75 today, aided by a team-best three birdies. The redshirt freshman out of Chattanooga, Tenn. accumulated a 227 (+11), ranking just outside the top-25 in the individual standings after a team-best eight birdies.
The Skyhawks will now step away from official competition for the next three weeks, returning to action at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate hosted by Missouri State on March 21-22 in Springfield, Mo.
