
UT MARTIN MEN'S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO BOWLING GREEN FOR FINAL NONCONFERENCE ROAD MATCHUP OF THE SEASON

MARTIN, Tenn. – Winners of three of its last four contests, the University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball squad hits the road for the last time in nonconference play when it takes on Bowling Green out of the Mid-American Conference. Tipoff on Saturday, Dec. 17 is set for 1 p.m. CST on ESPN3.
The Skyhawks (6-5) are coming off their best three-point performance in school history, sinking 17 of their 32 attempts from beyond the arc for a whopping 53.1 percent clip in a 103-75 win over Bethel on Tuesday. Seven different players accounted for at least one trey for UT Martin as Parker Stewart led the way with seven 3-pointers - tying a career-high in that category. Stewart (game-high 23 points), KJ Simon (22 points), KK Curry (15 points, 10 rebounds, career-best four steals) and Jordan Sears (11 points, season-highs of 7 assists, 5 assists and 2 blocks) led the way for the Skyhawks.
Over the last four games, UT Martin has nailed 43.5 percent (47-for-108) of its tries from three-point land. Stewart (20-of-36) and Simon (9-for-19) have combined to swish 52.7 percent of their 55 long range attempts over that span. Stewart is averaging 22.8 points per contest while Simon is responsible for a 19.3 points-per-game scoring average over the last four outings.
Curry has also excelled over the last four games, averaging 10.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and a team-best 2.5 steals while shooting 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the floor.
Bowling Green (4-6) fell 81-75 at Norfolk State on Wednesday night, snapping a two-game winning streak. The Falcons led 38-34 at the halftime break but Norfolk State doubled up Bowling Green by a 48-24 margin in points in the paint. Kaden Metheny poured in a season-high 28 points thanks in large part to an 8-for-14 performance from three-point range. Samari Curtis added a double-double (11 points, 10 assists) while Leon Ayers II provided 10 points for the Falcons.
