UT MARTIN MAINTAINS NO. 10 SLOT IN NEWEST NATIONAL COLLEGIATE EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION RANKINGS

WACO, Texas – The University of Tennessee at Martin held on to its No. 10 ranking in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association poll released this afternoon.
Four total spots changed from last week as SMU retained its No. 1 rank. The Mustangs were followed by No. 2 TCU, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Auburn, No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 7 South Carolina, No. 8 Baylor, No. 9 UC Davis and the No. 10 Skyhawks.
UT Martin is coming off a home split against No. 7 South Carolina (10-9 setback) and Lynchburg (7-3 victory) last weekend. The Skyhawks combined for six wins in fences, six triumphs in flat, three victories in reining and one win in horsemanship.
In fences, Julia Gilman went a perfect 2-0 on the weekend as she also garnered the team's lone Jumping Seat MOP – a career-best 88-point effort in fences against South Carolina. Overall, each member of the UT Martin fences lineup earned a win over the weekend – a list that includes Emmy Reed, Elizabeth Becker, Sydney Hott and Haley Kane.
Both Kane (85.0 scoring average) and Rileigh Weiss (83.5 scoring average) were undefeated in flat, posting unblemished 2-0 marks in head-to-head competition. Hott tacked on a win against South Carolina while Ava Laplante secured a victory against Lynchburg.
Lexi Bailey shined in the Western squad's lone appearance of the weekend, dialing up an MOP ride of 70 points in reining against South Carolina. She was joined in victory by teammates Logan Putvinski and Kate Davis as the Skyhawks nabbed three of the five points in the event.
In horsemanship, Keely Seiter posted a team point during Friday's meet against South Carolina with a 73.5-point effort.
UT Martin returns to action later this month with a Nov. 18 home matchup against South Dakota State in the team's fall finale.
