
UT MARTIN APPEARS IN NATIONAL COLLEGIATE EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION POLL FOR SIXTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK

WACO, Texas – There was major movement in this week's National Collegiate Equestrian Association top-10 rankings as the University of Tennessee at Martin checks in at No. 10.
Overall, eight of the 10 spots changed from last week – including each of the top five teams. SMU is the new No. 1 team in the land and is followed by No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 3 TCU, No. 4 Georgia, No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 Auburn, No. 7 South Carolina, No. 8 Baylor, No. 9 UC Davis and the No. 10 Skyhawks.
UT Martin has posted a 2-2 overall record so far in 2022-23 with both setbacks coming to nationally ranked squads (then-No. 1 TCU on Oct. 13, No. 6 Auburn on Oct. 22). The two Skyhawk victories came at home against Dartmouth on Oct. 1 and on the road at Delaware State on Oct. 14.
This season, UT Martin has collected 32 individual head-to-head victories and six total MOP's. In the Jumping Seat discipline, the Skyhawks have posted 10 wins and one MOP in fences, adding a 78.0 scoring average. In flat, UT Martin has tacked on 10 more victories, two MOP's and an 81.5 scoring average. On the Western side, the Skyhawks have earned five wins, one MOP and a 74.4 scoring average in horsemanship while generating seven victories, two MOP's and a 63.1 scoring average in reining.
UT Martin has now secured a national ranking in all six editions during the 2022-23 campaign. The Skyhawks return to action this weekend with a pair of meets at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion, hosting No. 7 South Carolina at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 and Lynchburg at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. Action on both days will start at 10 a.m.
