
UT MARTIN EQUESTRIAN RACKS UP 26 HONOREES ON THE NCEA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

MARTIN, Tenn. – An impressive total of 26 different University of Tennessee at Martin representatives graced the National Collegiate Equestrian Association All-Academic squads, which were unveiled this afternoon.
The 26 Skyhawk honorees doubles last season's total of 13 as overall, a total of 330 equestrian student-athletes found themselves on the prestigious lists.
Eight UT Martin student-athletes earned a spot on the American Wood Fibers NCEA All-Academic first team, which requires that recipients must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and earned a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively. Tess Baumann, Erin Bledsoe, Lucy Eier, Abbie Hopkins, Haley Kane, Noel Meadows, Quinn Reed and Devon Woods each fit the criteria for that award.
To qualify for the American Wood Fibers NCEA All-Academic second team, an honoree must have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively. The Skyhawk trio of Paige Benson, Julia Gilman and Hannah McDonald each earned a spot on that squad.
In order to make the American Wood Fibers NCEA Academic honorable mention team, a rider must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively. Representing UT Martin on that list was Mahalia Alascio and Grace Rogers.
