MURRAY, Ky. – After seeing the entire 2020 outdoor track and field season canceled, the University of Tennessee at Martin track and field program was eager to return to outdoor competition this weekend with its first official meet since the 2019 OVC Championship with its participation at the Margaret Simmons Invitational.
The Skyhawks posted a nice debut in its return to the outdoor season by setting three new school records in the men's long jump, triple jump and 4x800m relay.

Fellow newcomer Jamire Thompson joined in the action by setting a pair of PRs to highlight his afternoon. Thompson posted a PR in the men's 110 hurdles with a time of 15.39 to finish fourth. He later set a program record of his own with a triple jump distancing 12.17m.
