SKYHAWK RIFLE CONTINUES FALL SLATE WITH FIRST OF TWO WEEKEND MATCHUPS AT MOREHEAD STATE

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The University of Tennessee at Martin rifle team started its busy weekend schedule today, firing in the first of two matches against Ohio Valley Conference rival Morehead State.
The Skyhawks accumulated 4,543 total points today, collecting a 2,246 score in smallbore to go with a 2,297 tally in air rifle. Morehead State's 4,685 aggregate total included 2,320 points in smallbore and 2,365 points in air rifle.
For the second straight match, Jennifer Plocinik guided UT Martin in aggregate scoring as the Lehighton, Pa. native posted 1,142 points. Her team-best score of 564 points in smallbore was just one point shy of her season-high while she additionally earned a team-high 578 score in air rifle.
In smallbore, the Skyhawk lineup consisted of Plocinik (564), Alayna Walther (562), Rachel Sprague (561), Jesse Chamberlain (career-best 559) and Nick Fares (542). Also representing UT Martin in smallbore was Abigail Donald (season-high 553), Rachel Mills (533) and Victoria Petersen (532 in her collegiate debut in that event).
Following Plocinik's 578 in the air rifle lineup was Sprague (574), Walther (573), Fares (572) and Chamberlain (career-best 566). Competing on an individual basis was Donald (season-high 568), Mills (559) and Petersen (548).
The Skyhawks and Eagles will meet once again tomorrow morning as their match is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. CST.
