
UT MARTIN LOCKED IN AT NO. 10 IN THIS WEEK’S EDITION OF NCEA FARNAM TOP-10 RANKINGS

WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association revealed its latest Farnam top-10 rankings this afternoon and for the fifth consecutive week, the University of Tennessee at Martin is ranked No. 10.
No. 1 Auburn once again earned the top spot in this week's poll and was followed in the top-five by No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 3 SMU, No. 4 Baylor and No. 5 Oklahoma State. Rounding out the top-10 was No. 6 South Carolina, No. 7 Georgia, No. 8 TCU, No. 9 Fresno State and No. 10 UT Martin.
The Skyhawks have not officially competed for nearly a month but have retained their No. 10 ranking since Feb. 5. Including its exhibition against Mississippi State, UT Martin has generated a 3-1 record this spring, with its only loss coming at the hands of No. 1 Auburn on Feb. 8.
A balanced attack has been the key to the Skyhawks' success in 2018-19, as UT Martin has tallied 33 wins in the Western discipline and 32 victories in the Hunter Seat discipline. In equitation on the flat, Kelby Kane leads the squad across the board with 78.6 scoring average, five wins and a pair of MOP honors. She also owns a team-highs of a 76.3 scoring average and six wins in equitation over fences in equitation over fences while Monika Zoromski is responsible for a pair of MOP's in that event.
The Western discipline is guided by Tess Baumann, who tops UT Martin in horsemanship scoring average (73.6), horsemanship MOP's (two) and reining MOP's (two). Lucy Eier has collected a team-high five victories in horsemanship while Noel Meadows (team-best six wins) and Hannah McDonald (team-high 68.4 scoring average) rank as leaders in the Skyhawks' reining lineup.
UT Martin returns to the arena on March 14 when it squares off against Miami (Ohio) in a home exhibition. The match – which will begin at 12 p.m. – will also serve as Senior Day for the Skyhawks.
