UT MARTIN MEN'S BASKETBALL TRIES TO LOCK UP AN OVC TOURNAMENT SPOT ON SENIOR DAY AGAINST TENNESSEE STATE

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball team plays host to Tennessee State in a game with Ohio Valley Conference tournament implications in the 2018-19 home finale. Tipoff on Saturday, March 2 is set for 3:30 p.m., with a brief Senior Day ceremony to take place at approximately 3:10 p.m.
Several scenarios are still in play for the Skyhawks to advance to next week's OVC Tournament in Evansville, Ind. With a victory over Tennessee State and an SIUE loss to Jacksonville State, UT Martin will likely make the eight-team field and can potentially move as high as the No. 7 seed.
The Skyhawks (10-18, 5-12 OVC) have not lost to Tennessee State in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center since 2012, reeling off three straight wins by an average margin of 12.7 points per outing.
UT Martin will look to avenge an early season loss to the Tigers as Tennessee State escaped with a 68-67 win on Jan. 31 in Nashville. In that game, the Skyhawks led by four points with just over a minute to play before Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey hit the go-ahead 10-foot floater with 3.3 seconds remaining. Craig Randall II generated a team-high 17 points in his UT Martin debut against the Tigers.
Before the game, the four Skyhawk seniors will be honored as part of Senior Day festivities. Kevin Little, Jailen Gill, Delfincko Bogan and Fatodd Lewis have combined to score nearly 2,000 points and grab over 1,000 rebounds as a group over their UT Martin careers.
Tennessee State (9-20, 6-11 OVC) is coming off an 89-74 setback at Southeast Missouri on Thursday. The Tigers received a game-high 18 points out of Michael Littlejohn but the host Redhawks shot 54.5 percent - including a 73.7 percent effort from three-point range (14-of-19) - on their way to the win.
Fitzpatrick-Dorsey has emerged as one of the league's top newcomers, as the Ole Miss transfer tossed in 23 points against UT Martin earlier this season.
ESPN+ will stream the game live while the radio broadcast can be heard locally on WCMT 1410 AM/100.5 FM. Those links - as well as a link to follow along with live stats - can be found at the top of the webpage.
