WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association has announced this week's national poll and the University of Tennessee at Martin remains at No. 10 in the Farnam team rankings.
There was little movement in this week's rankings as only the No. 3 and No. 4 spots were flipped. Auburn retained the top spot in the poll and was followed by No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 3 South Carolina, No. 4 SMU, No. 5 Baylor, No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 7 Georgia, No. 8 TCU, No. 9 Fresno State and No. 10 UT Martin.
The Skyhawks, who moved into the top-10 rankings on Feb. 5, own a 4-6 record on the season while facing a challenging schedule that has included six nationally ranked opponents. UT Martin has not competed since a 14-2 exhibition victory over Mississippi State on Feb. 10.
On the season, the Skyhawks have managed 65 individual victories to go along with 20 MOP performances. The evenly-balanced UT Martin attack includes 33 victories and 10 MOP's in the Western discipline as well as 32 wins and 10 MOP's in the Hunter Seat discipline.
The Skyhawks have tallied a team-high 20 victories in reining, claiming six MOP's in that event. UT Martin also boast 17 wins and six MOP's in equitation on the flat, 15 victories with four MOP's in equitation on the flat as well as 13 wins and four MOP honors in horsemanship.
Senior Day is next on the schedule for the Skyhawk equestrian team as UT Martin will take on Miami (Ohio) for an exhibition on March 14. The competition will begin at 10 a.m. in the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex.
