HOPKINS COLLECTS ECAC NOVEMBER RIDER OF THE MONTH HONORS IN FLAT

DANBURY, Conn. – University of Tennessee at Martin standout Abbie Hopkins has dialed up Eastern College Athletic Conference Rider of the Month accolades in flat for November, the league announced today.
Today's honor is yet another national recognition for Hopkins, who has won four awards during the 2019 fall season. She was also named ECAC Flat Rider of the Week and ECAC Fences Rider of the Week on Sept. 25 and ECAC Flat Rider of the Week on Nov. 19.
Hopkins and the Skyhawks competed just once in the month of November, as the junior out of Seekonk, Mass. cruised to 75 points in flat against then-No. 4 South Carolina. That score was 19 points better than her head-to-head competitor as she sealed her fourth straight flat victory to wrap up the fall – three of which came against nationally ranked opposition.
Hopkins accounts for team-highs in scoring average (75.6), victories (four) and MOP's (one) for UT Martin in flat. She is a perfect 4-0-1 this season with a season-best score of 80 points against then-No. 4 Oklahoma State on Sept. 20.
The Skyhawks spent nine out of 10 weeks in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Farnam top-10 poll this fall. UT Martin has collected a 2-3 team record with 29 individual wins and seven MOP's so far this season.
