
SKYHAWK EQUESTRIAN FEATURED IN NCEA FARNAM TOP-10 RANKINGS FOR EIGHTH TIME THIS SEASON

MARTIN, Tenn. – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association released their latest Farnam top-10 poll this afternoon and the University of Tennessee at Martin is ranked 10th.
Today's announcement marks the eighth week where the Skyhawks have found themselves in the national rankings in 2019-20. UT Martin has been ranked in all but one of the nine polls so far this season.
Auburn held on to the No. 1 spot and is followed by No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 5 Fresno State, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 7 TCU, No. 8 SMU, No. 9 Baylor and No. 10 UT Martin.
The Skyhawks competed for the first time in over a month last Friday, falling at No. 4 South Carolina by a 15-4 margin. Abbie Hopkins (75 points) and Mahalia Alascio (67) each generated wins in flat while Bailey Newlin (73) and Devon Woods (71) each tallied victories in horsemanship.
Noel Meadows tallied a tie in reining with a team-best 69 points while Grace Rogers secured a team-high 81 points in fences for UT Martin.
The Skyhawks wrapped up the fall season with a 2-3 overall record, facing ranked opponents in four of those five competitions. UT Martin opens the spring campaign on Feb. 7-8 when it takes on UC Davis and Fresno State in Fresno, Calif.
