
UT MARTIN’S ALEXIS GRANDYS NAMED OVC FEMALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Junior University of Tennessee at Martin cross country standout Alexis Grandys earned her second Ohio Valley Conference Female Runner of the Week accolade of the season after a strong showing at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival over the weekend.
A native of Yorkville, Ill., Grandys continues to impress in her second season in a Skyhawk uniform. Grandys tied for the fastest time in the OVC this week with a 24th place finish out of over 270 competitors in a loaded field which included nationally and regionally ranked competitors. Her 5k time of 17:22.9 ranked as a new personal-best.
Grandys and the Skyhawks will return to action with their final tune-up before the OVC Championship by competing at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 18.
