CAMPBELL GOES UNDEFEATED AS UT MARTIN TENNIS POSTS SOLID VICTORIES IN SKYHAWK FALL INVITE

MARTIN, Tenn. – The abbreviated Skyhawk Fall Invite featured six victories for the University of Tennessee at Martin tennis squad, who took on fellow Division I member North Alabama twice in doubles and once in singles in less than a 24-hour span.
Junior Amelia Campbell posted a perfect 3-0 record in the tournament to pace the Skyhawks. The London, England native teamed up with Daphne Pratt to go 2-0 in doubles action while adding a singles victory on Thursday. In doubles, the Campbell/Pratt tandem defeated the Lion team of Payton Andrews/Megan Humphreys by an 8-7 margin on Thursday before turning around today to take down Lee-Taylor Bishop/Elise Sickle by a 6-0 score. In singles, she earned a hard-fought 7-6, 3-6, 10-7 win over Kalais Going on Thursday.
Also adding a doubles win today was the UT Martin duo of Aziza Aubin and Mizuki Sakurai, who generated a 6-2 triumph over the North Alabama squad of Humphreys/Going.
A total of three Skyhawks notched victories in singles action, as Sakurai and Sina Albersmeier joined Campbell as winners on Thursday. Sakurai outlasted Sickle with a come-from-behind 1-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory while Albersmeier cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win against Nicole Reilly.
The UT Martin duo of Albersmeier and Jule Streif were narrowly defeated in both doubles bouts, falling by 8-6 and 6-4 margins. The Skyhawks also put up a fight during Thursday's doubles action but the pairings of Aubin/Sakurai and Jillian Niedzialowski/Natasha Sijan were defeated 8-5 and 8-4, respectively. The UT Martin team of Niedzialowski/Sijan were back at it today but fell 6-1 to North Alabama's No. 1 team.
On Thursday, Niedzialowski came close to a singles win but fell by a 7-5, 6-2 margin. Streif played at No. 1 but was defeated 6-4, 6-2 while Pratt fell by scores of 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2. Sijan (6-4, 6-0) and Aubin (6-0, 6-2) also represented the Skyhawks in singles action but came up just short.
UT Martin finishes up its fall schedule next weekend when it travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take part in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by the University of Alabama on Nov. 1-2.
