
UT MARTIN SOCCER COMPLETES WEEKEND SWEEP WITH 4-1 VICTORY AT EASTERN KENTUCKY

RICHMOND, Ky. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team recorded its first weekend sweep of the Death Valley road trip since 2013 with a decisive 4-1 victory at Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon.
The Skyhawks (6-5-4, 4-2-1 OVC) moved into sole possession of fourth place in the league standings (13 points) with just two weeks left in the regular season while sitting just two points out of second which is accompanied by a double-bye into the OVC Soccer Championship semifinals.
UT Martin would jump out to a lead with a penalty kick goal from freshman Catey Hunt in the 39th minute before Eastern Kentucky found the equalizer in the 54th minute. From there the match was controlled by the visitors. Junior Alice Adams tallied her second goal of the weekend in the 58th minute before a pair of goals by Jill Hildreth in the 59th and 68th minutes sealed the team's six-point weekend.
The Skyhawks would lead the way with 18 shots on the afternoon while placing 11 shots on goal. The duo of Jill Hildreth and Adams would pace the squad with four shot attempts while Jaden Hildreth and Sophia Mankowski also tallied three attempts each. Also highlighting the match was the pair of Bella Roberts and Hendrikje Baurmann which both tallied assists.
Junior Erica Myers was solid in goal once again, picking up her 22nd career victory. Myers would be tested with nine shots on goal but would rise to the occasion to record eight saves.
UT Martin will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 20 with a league matchup against Southeast Missouri. Action from Skyhawk Field is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
