SKYHAWK MEN'S HOOPS FINISHES NONCONFERENCE SLATE WITH A SUNDAY TRIP TO BOWLING GREEN

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball team gets its final tuneup before conference play when it travels to the Buckeye State for a Sunday, Dec. 30 matchup against the Bowling Green Falcons. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CST from the Stroh Center.
The Skyhawks (5-5) will look to shake off a cold shooting effort in their last outing, a 93-53 setback at Fresno State. Fatodd Lewis (12 points) and Quintin Dove (11) both reached double-figures in the scoring column but UT Martin could not overcome season-lows in points (53) and field goal percentage (.333) against the Mountain West Conference power.
So far this season, 75 has been the magic number for the Skyhawks. UT Martin is a perfect 5-0 when tallying at least 75 points on the scoreboard but so far has not reached that total in any of its five road games.
The Skyhawks currently rank first out of 351 teams in the NCAA Division I basketball ranks in fewest fouls committed. Through 10 games, UT Martin has only been whistled for 153 fouls - ranking just ahead of Charlotte (156), TCU (161) and Michigan (161).
Bowling Green (7-5) comes into the contest playing its best basketball of the season, winning each of its last three games by an average of 25 points per outing. As a team, the Falcons rank in the top-five nationally in rebounds per game (45.42, second) and rebounding margin (+11.8, fifth). Senior forward Demajeo Wiggins has corralled the second-most double-doubles (nine) in the nation while ranking third in the country with 12.2 rebounds per game.
In its last matchup, Bowling Green came away with a 73-52 victory against Western Carolina to improve to 6-0 at the Stroh Center in 2018-19. Justin Turner provided game-highs of 21 points and six assists for a Falcon squad that shot an even 50 percent (25-of-50) while committing only eight turnovers.
