MONIKA ZOROMSKI CLAIMS UEC RIDER OF THE MONTH ACCOLADES IN EQUITATION OVER FENCES

WACO, Texas – University of Tennessee at Martin senior Monika Zoromski has been recognized as the United Equestrian Conference Equitation over Fences Rider of the Month for October.
Today's mention marks the third Skyhawk to be spotlighted by the UEC in the last 24 hours. The league announced Kelby Kane (equitation on the flat, equitation over fences) and Tess Baumann (horsemanship, reining) as its Riders of the Week on Monday.
Hailing from Saukville, Wis., Zoromski was a perfect 2-0 in equitation over fences in October, posting victories over South Dakota State on Oct. 11 and Sweet Briar College on Oct. 12.
Zoromski's 77-point performance on Rose against South Dakota State was good enough for her first MOP of the season in the event, as she won by two points over her competitor. The following day, she dialed up 75 points on Dawson, winning by a sizable 44 points against her opposition.
Through seven competitions this season, Zoromski has scored at least a 74 on three different occasions in equitation over fences. In addition to her two wins in October, she also produced a victory over No. 8 Fresno State on Sept. 28.
Zoromski also ranks amongst UT Martin's leaders in equitation on the flat, accumulating three wins, one MOP and a 74.6 scoring average.
The Skyhawks are back in action next week when they head to Dover, Del. for matchups against Delaware State and SMU on Nov. 16.
