Hunter Kendall enters his second season on the UT Martin football coaching staff in 2026, serving as the Skyhawks’ running backs coach. A former UT Martin player, Kendall has quickly built a coaching career rooted in the program he once represented on the field.

Kendall originally joined the UT Martin football program as an offensive student assistant and video coordinator in 2022. He remained in those roles through 2024 before moving into a full-time coaching position in 2025. His familiarity with the Skyhawk program, combined with his experience as a former player, provides valuable continuity and perspective within the offensive staff.

A native of the program himself, Kendall played running back and tight end for UT Martin during the 2021 season. He appeared in one game during the Skyhawks’ championship campaign, helping the team capture the Ohio Valley Conference title and advance to the second round of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

Kendall graduated from UT Martin in 2023 and transitioned directly into a coaching and football operations role with his alma mater. His progression from student assistant and video coordinator to running backs coach reflects the program’s confidence in his football knowledge, work ethic and ability to develop players.

As running backs coach, Kendall works closely with the Skyhawks’ backfield while contributing to UT Martin’s offensive preparation, player development and overall success.
