Dresser Winn enters his first season on the UT Martin football coaching staff following a standout playing career with the Skyhawks and experience at the professional level as a quarterback.
Winn went on to enjoy a productive six-year career at UT Martin, appearing in 32 games and finishing his collegiate career among the program's all-time leaders in passing yards (5,800), total offense (5,964), passing touchdowns (37), completions (492) and passing attempts (814). He also recorded seven career 300-yard passing performances, second-most in school history at the time of his departure.
During the Skyhawks' historic 2022 campaign, Winn earned All-Ohio Valley Conference second-team honors and was named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List after throwing for 2,928 yards and 18 touchdowns while leading UT Martin to an OVC championship. He eclipsed 300 passing yards in five games that season, including a career-high 463 yards against Murray State.
Winn was also instrumental in UT Martin's breakthrough 2021 season, helping the Skyhawks capture the OVC championship and secure the first FCS playoff victory in program history. His performance in the playoff win over Missouri State included 272 passing yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning 37-yard strike to Donnell Williams.
Following his collegiate career, Winn signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2023 before also spending time with the Rams during the 2024 and 2025 campaigns. He also spent time with the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League and the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League, gaining additional experience in professional football.
A native of Dresden, Tenn., Winn was a highly decorated quarterback at Dresden High School before joining the UT Martin program in 2017. He guided the Lions to a perfect 16-0 record and the school's first Class 1A state championship as a senior in 2016, earning Tennessee Titans Mr. Football 1A Offensive Back honors the previous season and numerous all-state and regional accolades.
Winn graduated from UT Martin in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
