Avary Makarewicz enters her first season as the graduate assistant for UT Martin softball in 2027. Makarewicz was the starting catcher for the Skyhawks from 2025-2026, after beginning her career at Eastern Illinois.
During her playing career, Makarewicz earned All-OVC honors in 2026, two OVC Player of the Week accolades, was named as an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete twice, name to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and was an OVC Medal of Honor recipient.
Makarewicz graduated in 2026 from UT Martin with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.
