Travis Partridge enters his third season as an assistant coach at UT Martin in 2023, serving as the team’s pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Partridge oversaw a passing offense which ranked second in the OVC by averaging 269.5 passing yards per game while compiling 18 touchdowns. All-OVC second team quarterback Dresser Winn completed 61.2 percent of his pass attempts for 2,928 yards and 18 touchdowns. Meanwhile, the receiving core featured two All-OVC performers in Colton Dowell (1,036 yards and six touchdowns) and DeVonte Tanksley (653 yards, one touchdown).
Before joining the staff at UT Martin, Partridge served as the interim quarterbacks coach in 2021 at Kansas following two years as an offensive quality control coach in 2019 and 2020. In that role he assisted with game planning, practice evaluation, planning and more.
Partridge previously served on UT Martin’s staff under head coach Jason Simpson during the 2018 season as the team’s quarterback coach. During that season, Skyhawk quarterbacks threw for 2,917 yards and 21 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 62.8.
Prior to his first stint with the Skyhawks, Partridge spent the 2017 season as a graduate assistant Delta State, working primarily with the quarterbacks. While at Delta State, the Statesmen posted a 9-4 mark while finishing tied for second in the Gulf Coast Conference standings. Offensively, the squad averaged 30.1 points per game while scoring 50 offensive touchdowns.
Before to joining the coaching ranks, Partridge enjoyed a professional playing career. He would sign with the Minnesota Vikings as a priority free agent in 2014 before ultimately spending the season with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Along with stints in the CFL, Partridge saw success in the Indoor Football League with the Iowa Barnstormers, completing 310-of-525 passes for 3,524 yards and 64 touchdowns passing and tallied 31 scores on the ground over two seasons. He completed 211-of-313 passes for 2,399 yards and 47 touchdowns and carried 186 times for 693 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2017. He originally joined Iowa midway through 2016, starting in the final 5 games of the year, completing 99 of 166 passing attempts for 1,135 yards and 17 touchdowns while notching seven rushing touchdowns.
The St. Joseph, Missouri, native played for his dad Jerry Partridge at Missouri Western State from 2009-13. Partridge finished third on the MWSU career records lists in passes completed (551), pass attempts (949), pass yards (6,754), touchdown passes (70), and completion percentage (58.1). Partridge also set the career rushing touchdowns mark with 36 and ranks fourth in career passing yards per game (158.1).
During his collegiate career, Partridge earned First-Team All-MIAA, Don Hansen and Beyond Sports Honorable Mention All-American, Daktronics Second-Team All-Region 4 and and Don Hansen First-Team Super Region 3. He also was named All-MIAA Honorable Mention in 2011 and 2013.
He prepped at Savannah High School where he was an All-District and Second-Team All-Conference quarterback.
Partridge, who is the son of Jerry and Pam Partridge, received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Missouri Western State University in 2013.
