Brayden Devault-Smith enters his first season as a defensive graduate assistant at UT Martin, primarily working with the defensive backs.
Devault-Smith joins the Skyhawks after a playing career which featured stops at Vanderbilt and Samford. During the 2022 season, he wrapped up his career by appearing in all 12 games for Samford, tallying 40 total tackles – including 19 solos and 21 assists. He also defended four passes while registering an interception and forced fumble.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Devault-Smith spent four seasons at Vanderbilt where he played in 32 games for the Commodores. He racked up 57 career tackles as a Commodore while tallying 5.0 tackles for loss and three sacks.
The Nashville native prepped at Pearl-Cohn High School and graduated from Vanderbilt with a degree in sociology in 2021.
