Skyhawks Receive USC Team Academic Award For Second Consecutive Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For its achievements in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team has been honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, the organization recently announced, concluding last year with a team GPA of 3.47.
The Skyhawks turned in a total group effort academically with 22 of 29 players being named to the Fall 2024 Athletic Director's Honor Roll and 21 earning the distinction for Spring 2025.
Recently, 15 players earned a spot on the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, led by Shayla Addington, who earned the accolade all four years in which she was a Skyhawk. Maren Cain and Caroline Moore each earned their third accolade last season, while Daksha Sutharshan and Anna Østergaard Ibsen took home the award for the second time in their career.
In addition, six Skyhawks earned the OVC Medal of Honor, given to those who achieve the highest GPA in their sport, typically a perfect 4.0. Cain received the award for the third time in her career, with Østergaard Ibsen and Moore earning the award for the second time and Ava Huntrods, Mille Perry and Unni Wolf each taking home the accolade for the first time.
The Skyhawks continue the opening weekend of their 2026 campaign Sunday when they travel to Chicago State for a 1 p.m. start.
