
UT Martin Men’s Basketball Adds Armandas Bancevicius On National Signing Day

MARTIN, Tenn. – Armandas Bancevicius, a 6-8, 190-pound forward out of Kaunas, Lithuania, has signed with the University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball program for the 2026-27 season.
Bancevicius attended Kauno Santaros Gimnazija and currently plays for head coach Sarunas Zablockis with the Vilkaviskio Perlas in the Lithuanian NKL after spending the first three-plus months of the season suiting up for Omega-Tauras Kauno. He has averaged 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals over the first 38 games of his 2025-26 season, shooting 59 percent (105-of-178) from the floor, including 38 made treys.
Bancevicius has scored at least 20 points on four separate occasions, including season-best 21-point efforts (including 4-for-9 from three-point land) against Zilgris II on Oct. 4 and 21 points (on-8-of-10 shooting) with a season-high six steals, five rebounds and four assists against Mazeikiai on Feb. 28. He also hauled in double-doubles against Mazeikiai (18 points, 10 rebounds on Oct. 11) and Vytis (20 points, 10 rebounds on March 12). He additionally played for the Vilkaviskio organization in both the 2024-25 and 2023-24 seasons, logging 61 total games over that stretch. He helped lead the Perlas to the Lithuanian NKL Finals in 2024-25.
"Armandas is an outstanding player that continues our connection to Lithuania," Skyhawk head coach Jeremy Shulman said. "He's a tall, do-it-all wing who can play multiple positions who is a terrific player and an amazing person. We are so excited to have him."
Playing on the Lithuanian National Team since 2018, Bancevicius saw action in both the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket and 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket events. He helped lead his home country to a finals berth in the 2025 tournament held in Heraklion, Greece as his best game came in the July 17 quarterfinals against Slovenia (14 points). He also had eight rebounds against Poland (July 16 Round of 16) and four steals against Romania (July 13 group phase). He ended the 2024 event with back-to-back double-digit scoring games, accomplishing that feat against Sweden (11 points on Aug. 3, 2024) and France (10 points on Aug. 4) at the tournament hosted by Tampere, Finland. He also nabbed eight rebounds against Italy on July 31 in the round of 16.
Bancevicius joins Reid Conley (Chattanooga, Tenn./Chattanooga Preparatory Academy) as UT Martin signees for next season. The Skyhawks are coming off a school-record 22 wins and 13 Ohio Valley Conference victories (one shy of the most in program history), playing in the OVC Championship semifinals for the third time since 2023. UT Martin ranked in the top-25 in NCAA Division I men's basketball in seven different statistical categories in Year Two of the Shulman Era.
