DAVIS, Calif. – Senior Kailyn Veale earned her third horsemanship MOP of the season today as the University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian squad wrapped up its regular season with a 14-5 setback at UC Davis.
An Ooltewah, Tenn. native, Veale helped pace a strong Skyhawk effort in horsemanship as UT Martin posted three victories and a tie in that event. Veale's 76 points were good enough for her sixth win of the 2025-26 campaign and fourth triumph in her last five starts dating back to Feb. 20 against Delaware State.
Ruby Gunderson tacked on her ninth victory of the season in horsemanship, winning her fifth consecutive decision with a 76.5-point ride. Olivia Wynn tallied her sixth win of the season via a 64.5-point performance while Ava Jo Glenn (73) tied with her head-to-head competitor. Ava Newsom's 67.5 points completed the Skyhawk lineup.
In flat, Kathleen DeGenova posted her team-best sixth victory of the season with an 84-point effort (against a zero from her opponent). Shelby Davis registered a remarkable career-best 94 points but was edged out by one point from her MOP competitor while Camille Panuwat's career-high score of 79 resulted in a tough one-point setback. Lydia Jordan and Riley Hayes also made starts for UT Martin, collecting scores of 73 and 65, respectively.
Caroline Krier secured the first win of her collegiate career today, compiling 84 points in a 13-point victory in fences. Averey Pritchard posted a season-best 87 points but was narrowly defeated by one point while DeGenova came away with a career-best 83 points. Audrey Morris (68 points) and Daphne Stavig (67 points) additionally represented the Skyhawks in fences.
The UT Martin reining lineup was headed by Elise Mason's 71.5 points. Abby Tibbits followed closely behind with 71 points while Claire Carpenter (70.5), Stevie Brown (69.5) and Payton Bundy (66.5) were also responsible for solid scores in starting roles for the Skyhawks.
UT Martin will now focus on defending its Eastern College Athletic Conference title as the Skyhawks will head to the 2026 ECAC Championship on March 26-28 in Harrington, Del.
