UT Martin Completes First Two Rounds At Memphis Intercollegiate

CORDOVA, Tenn. – Redshirt senior Jackson Twerdahl led the University of Tennessee at Martin golf team after 36 holes at the Memphis Intercollegiate, held at the Colonial Country Club.
Competing in a 15-team, 84-player field that includes No. 10 Illinois and three top-110 players in the nation, the Skyhawks managed scores of 311 (+23) in Round 1 and 324 (+36) in Round 2. Overall, UT Martin shot a 635 (+59) to rank 12th in the team standings.
Twerdahl shot a 154 (+10) today with a team-best six birdies. Four of those red scores came during his opening round 78 while he added two more birdies as part of a team-best 76 in the afternoon round.
Luke Caldwell accounted for a team-best 74 with four birdies in Round 1, which also included countable Skyhawk scores from Twerdahl, Ethan Ray (79, one birdie) and Garrett Chumley (80, one birdie).
Ranking behind Twerdahl in UT Martin's countable scoring lineup in Round 2 was Caldwell (82), Drew Williams (82 for the second straight round, one birdie) and Chumley (84).
In the individual standings, Caldwell (156, +12) is two strokes behind Twerdahl while Williams and Chumley are tied with matching 164's (+20). Ray, who shot an 86 in the second round, tallied a 165 (+21) on Day 1 of the tournament.
The Skyhawks tee off the third and final round of the tournament tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
