BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the second time this season, a University of Tennessee at Martin representative has earned Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week honors as sophomore Drew Williams is the latest Skyhawk to receive that title.
Williams becomes only the 22nd player in school history to bring home the OVC's top weekly accolade. He joins teammate Luke Caldwell – who won the award on Oct. 9 – as UT Martin winners during the 2025-26 campaign.
Hailing from Greensboro, Ga., Williams was responsible for a team-best 218 (+2) at the Pearl at Kalauao Invitational – marking the second straight tournament where he produced the best score on the team. He finished 26th in the extremely competitive field of 108 participants, dialing up consistent scores of 73-72-73 at the Pearl Country Club in 'Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i.
Williams ranked 10th in the event in par-3 scoring (team-best 3.08, +1) while also leading the Skyhawks in par-4 scoring (4.07, +2) and pars (32). Additionally, he carded nine combined birdies and an eagle – accomplishing that feat on the par-4, 415-yard Hole No. 9 in the tournament's opening round.
On the season, Williams is tied for eighth in the OVC with a 71.9 stroke average. He has shot par or better seven times in 15 opportunities so far in 2025-26, notching three top-10 tournament finishes in the process.
Williams and UT Martin will now enjoy a much-deserved break before starting the spring semester at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate in Statesboro, Ga. on Jan. 31 through Feb. 1.
