XOINIS’ EVEN-PAR PERFORMANCE PACES SKYHAWK GOLF ON DAY TWO AT MICKEY MOUSE INTERCOLLEGIATE

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Tennessee at Martin continued its participation in the 54-hole Mickey Mouse Intercollegiate today, carding a score of 296 (+8) to remain in ninth place heading into tomorrow's final round at Disney's Palm Golf Course.
The Skyhawks upped their birdie total from yesterday's first round, collecting 14 birdies alongside 52 pars.
Jonathan Xoinis led the way for UT Martin today, posting an even-par 72 that included a team-best four birdies. The redshirt sophomore out of Chattanooga, Tenn. secured three of those birdies in a five-hole stretch midway through the round before finishing his day with five consecutive pars.
Freshman Dax Isbell was the next-best finisher for the Skyhawks as he tallied a 73 (+1) with three birdies. Jacob Uehlein was responsible for UT Martin's lone eagle of the day plus a pair of birdies before finishing with a 74 (+2). The Skyhawks' fourth and final scorer today was Luke Caldwell, who tapped in one birdie per side on the way to a 77 (+5).
Bryson Morrell accounted for three birdies on the front-nine and was at 1-over through 15 holes before finishing with a 78 (+6).
Through 36 holes, Xoinis ranks 21st out of 91 golfers in the tournament standings with a score of 146 (+2). Uehlein is one shot behind with a 147 (+3) while Caldwell (150, +6), Morrell (152, +8) and Isbell (153, +9) are tightly grouped together.
Xoinis leads UT Martin in par-4 scoring (4.10, +2) and pars (24), sharing the team lead in the latter category with Caldwell. Morrell paces the Skyhawks in birdies (seven) and par-3 scoring (3.13, +1) while Uehlein tops the squad in par-5 scoring (4.50, -4) and eagles (one).
"We just have to keep working until we put a full round together," UT Martin head coach Austin Swafford said. "We're really close to clicking."
The third and final round of the event hosted by Bellarmine is set for tomorrow. The Skyhawks will be paired up with Belmont, Western Carolina and St. Thomas and will tee off Hole No. 10. Isbell will begin UT Martin's day at 7:30 a.m. CST, followed by Morrell (7:40), Caldwell (7:50), Uehlein (8:00) and Xoinis (8:10).
